Launched in 2017, the Japanese virtual idol group 22/7 was conceived as a media mix project by producer Yasushi Akitomo, anime production company Aniplex, and Sony Music Records. It consists of voice actresses Nagomi Saijō (Miu Takigawa), Uta Kawase (Nicole Saitō), Reina Miyase (Ayaka Tachikawa), Sally Amaki (Sakura Fujima), Kanae Shirosawa (Akane Maruyama), and Moe Suzuhana (Mikami Kamiki), who provide the voice and motion character for each respective character. In addition to the group's musical releases, an accompanying anime series of the same name premiered in March 2018. "Boku wa Sonzai Shiteinakatta," their debut single, appeared in August 2017 and was followed a year later by "Shampoo no Nioi ga Shita" and "Rikaisha," the latter of which peaked at Number 7 on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart. After hitting Number 4 in Japan with the single "Nani mo Shite Agerarenai" (2019) and undergoing multiple lineup changes, 22/7 continued their winning streak through a string of successful singles like "Kaze wa Fuiteru ka?" (2020), "Kakusei" (2021), "Kumorizora no Mukō wa Hareteiru" (2022), and "Kamisama Datte Kimerarenai" (2023), all of which went to Number 2 on the Oricon Singles Chart.
