American producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Bill Byerley is better known by his stage name William Aura and as the leader of jazz band 3rd Force. Fellow members are composer and keyboard player Craig Dobbin and multi-instrumentalist Alain Eskinasi. The group had success with their debut album '3rd Force' in 1994, and after that, a string of albums all with 'Force' in their titles. Their smooth jazz sound gave them a new age feel with electronic influences, sometimes crossing into dance and acid jazz. Their first four albums were released over a five-year period, the second being 'Force of Nature' in 1995, followed by 'Vital Force' in 1997 and 'Force Field' in 1999. In the early 2000s, they released two further albums, 'Gentle Force' in 2002 and 'Driving Force' in 2005. Following this, they took a ten-year break to pursue solo and other projects, before returning in 2016 with the album 'Global Force'. They are one of the main groups to be published on the Higher Octave record label.
