An extremely influential duo in electronic music, 4hero helped introduce dance-oriented genres like jungle, drum 'n' bass, and hardcore rave to the mainstream. Formed by in 1989 by London-based producers Mark "Marc Mac" Clair and Denis "Dego" McFarlane, 4hero enjoyed popularity in the British rave scene during the early 1990s, releasing albums like In Rough Territory and Parallel Universe along the way. By 1998's Two Pages, 4hero's reputation had spread far beyond the dance community, with the album peaking at Number 38 in the UK and being shortlisted for the Mercury Prize. The group continued releasing albums, remixes, and EPs during the early 21st century, including 2007's Play with the Changes.
