The R&B quartet 7 Mile formed in the 1990s in Detroit, Michigan. Glynis “Lil’ G” Martin, Jr., Luther “Squeak” Jackson, Deion “D” Lucas, and Seantezz “Tezz” Robinson caught their big break signing with Mariah Carey’s short-lived record label, Crave. Their debut single, 1997’s “Just a Memory” peaked at number 45 on the R&B chart. 1998 saw the release of their self-titled debut album which contained their biggest single, “Do Your Thing”, a number 12 R&B hit that reached number 50 on the pop chart. Crave shut down before the end of 1998, and 7 Mile quietly disbanded. Martin passed away in 2018.
