9MUSES A

Nine Muses A, stylized as 9MUSES A or 9MUSES AMUSE, is a South Korean pop sub-group formed by Star Empire Entertainment in 2016. The group was spun off from Nine Muses, featuring members Gyeongree, Hyemi, Sojin, and Keumjo. The formation of Nine Muses A was announced following the departure of Minha and Euaerin from the main group in 2016. Star Empire revealed the sub-unit would debut in the summer, with member announcements starting in early July. Gyeongree was the first to be named, followed by the revelation of the complete lineup, including Hyemi as the leader, Sojin as the rapper, and Keumjo handling main vocals. Their name, 9MUSES AMUSE, was meant to convey how they aim to amuse and provide joy through their performances. The group's debut song, "Lip 2 Lip," captured fans' attention. It served as a calling card for the group, announcing its presence in the field of K-pop. The song peaked at number 48 on the Korean charts. Later that year, the 9MUSES A released their single album Muses Diary, which debuted and peaked at number 5 on the Gaon Albums Chart with sales of over 10,504 copies. This release was followed by a period of inactivity; however, on March 21, 2023, it was announced that 9MUSES A would make a return with a new song set for release in May of that year, leading up to a full group comeback.
