The Brazilian MPB/indie rock band A Banda Mas Bonita da Cidade ("The Cutest Band in Town") was formed in 2009 in Curitiba, Paraná. Its lineup includes vocalist Uyara Torrente, keyboardist Vinícius Nisi, guitarist Rodrigo Lemos, bass player Diego Plaça, and drummer Luís Bourscheidt. Their name was inspired by Charles Bukowski's short story "The Most Beautiful Woman in Town." Initially, the band covered songs by local songwriters, blending them with their eclectic indie folk stylings. They gained significant attention in May 2011 with the release of their music video "Oração" on their streaming channel, which quickly went viral. The video features a single continuous shot of the song's composer, Leo Fressato, performing the song as he moves through an old house, joined by other band members. Later that year, they released their critically acclaimed eponymous studio debut, followed by the live EP Canções Que Vão Morrer no Ar in 2023 and the band's sophomore effort, O Mais Feliz da Vida, in 2013. The latter featured popular singles such as "Uma Atriz" and "Que Isso Fique Entre Nos." The following year, Rodrigo Lemos quit the band and was replaced by Eduardo Rozeira. After releasing the live LP Ao Vivo no Cine Joia in 2016, A Banda Mais Bonita da Cidade unveiled their third full-length album De Cima do Mundo Eu Vi o Tempo in 2017. Over the next few years, the group continued polishing their MPB-inflected sound on releases like the EP Maré Alta, Enfim (2023) and the album o futuro já está acontecendo (2024).
