Aaron Diehl is an American jazz pianist who was born in 1985 to a musical family and began studying music as a child. He garnered attention in the 2002 Jazz at Lincoln Center's Essentially Ellington competition and studied at the Juilliard School in New York. His debut album 'Live at Caramoor' came out in 2009 followed by 'Live at the Players' (2010). 'The Bespoke Man's Narrative' (2013) went to number 16 on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz Albums chart and number 35 on the Jazz Albums chart and 'Space Time Continuum' (2015) reached number 22 on the Jazz Albums chart. He has performed with many artists including the Wynton Marsalis Quintet, saxophonists Benny Golson and Joe Temperley, drummer Matt Wilson and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. He has toured America and Europe with singer Cécile McLorin Salvant. The album 'The Vagabond' came out in 2019. His 2020 schedule was to include appearances at venues across America.
