Electronic DJ and producer AC Slater (born Aaron Clevenger on 9 November 1979 in Los Angeles, California) has been championing a bass-heavy style of dance music since the mid-2000s, both as a solo artist and through his trailblazing Night Bass label. The self-styled "King of Heavy Bass House in America" cut his teeth on the hardcore scene before shifting his sound and dropping his breakthrough remix of Math Head's "Turn the Music Up" in November 2008, followed by "Jack Got Jacked" on Palms Out Sounds and a dalliance with dubstep. He inaugurated the arrival of his Night Bass party and label via the 2015 collaborative EP with Sinden, No to Love, before dropping his debut album in 2017, Outsiders, boasting guest contributions from the likes of Chris Lorenzo and Rome Fortune. Its successor, Hi8, arrived two years later, nodding to fidget house and packing in guest contributions from Dread MC, Kaleena Zanders, Young Lyxx and others. A string of AC Slater singles lit up the 2020s, including "Green Light" featuring Kate Wild (2021) and "Crave the Bassline" with Curbi in 2022. AC Slater's third album Together came in 2023 via Night Bass.
