Adibah Noor was a Malaysian entertainer whose award-winning career included multiple solo albums, many television appearances, and nearly 20 movie roles. She was born as "Adibah Noor binti Mohamed Omar" on September 3, 1970, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At 24 years old, she won her first singing competition, Suara 90-an Nescafe, setting the stage for the music career that would follow. Her debut album, Terlalu Istimewa, was released more than a decade later in 2005, with the record's title track, "Terlalu Istimewa," winning "Best Ballad" and "Best Song" at the following year's Anugerah Juara Lagu ceremony. Adibah Noor was also named "Best Vocalist" at the same event. Meanwhile, she also launched a movie carer with a role in 2004's Sepet, going on to star in more than 15 additional films — including 2010's Magika and 2015's Fundamentally Happy — before her death in 2022. Noor remained similarly prolific as a musician, releasing Teman in 2010, Jiwa Sentuh Jiwa in 2017, and two albums — Kecurigaan and Setulus Rasa — in 2022. During her later years, she frequently appeared as a judge on televised singing competitions like Malaysia's Duo Star. Diagnosed with stage-four ovarian cancer, she died in her hometown on February 24, 2022, at the age of 51.
