Born in Ranau, Malaysia, on September 19, 1991, pop singer Adira Suhaimi launched her career in 2010 by competing in the eighth season of the Malaysian reality TV competition Akademi Fantasia. She finished the show in second place and topped Malaysia's radio charts with her coronation song, "Ku Ada Kamu," several months later. By the end of 2011, Adira had topped those charts three more times with "Illusi," "Ombak Rindu," and "Sakura," all which were included on her debut album, Dewi Cinta. Not only a star on Malaysian radio, Adira starred in the made-for-television movies Lawaknya Fantasia Raya and Tiara. She also recorded music for multiple film and television soundtracks in her home country, earning hits like Pilot Cafe's "Untuk Cinta" and Pujaan Hari Kanda's "Pujaan Hati."
