Afara Tsena Fukushima, whose real name is Raphael Owary Houssene, hails from Congo-Brazzaville, and is one of the leading songwriters and artists on the African music scene. Right from the start, he fused traditional Congolese sounds with coupé-décalé and ndombolo to create a unique style: Afro-Mbokalisation. His career took off with landmark tracks such as"Jalousie","Mbokalisation 3.0" and"Mboka mopaya", which won over an international audience. In May 2024, he brought the house down at the Théâtre du Gymnase in Paris, marking a milestone in his ascent. His second live concert in the French capital, scheduled for March 8 at the Cabaret Sauvage, promises to be a vibrant celebration of his musical movement. Afara Tsena embodies a new generation of Congolese artists, exporting her country's culture through electrifying performances and profound artistic commitment.
