Ahn Jae-wook, born October 31, 1971, is a celebrated South Korean actor and singer who gained fame in the late 1990s. After graduating from the Seoul Institute of the Arts in theater, he debuted in the 1994 drama Song of a Blind Bird. His career breakthrough came in 1997 with Star in My Heart, a popular series that catapulted him to Hallyu (Korean Wave) status, especially in China, Japan, and Southeast Asia. Ahn simultaneously launched his music career, with his hit single "Forever," featured in Star in My Heart, which led to a debut album of the same name that sold over 700,000 copies. His discography includes Memories (1998), Yesterday (1999), Reds in Ahn Jae-wook (2003), and Sounds Like You (2005), showcasing his balladic style and melodic compositions. Ahn expanded his talents to musicals, notably starring in Jack the Ripper from 2009-2012, Rudolf (2012), Le Roi Soleil (2014), and Dracula (2022-2023). In addition to dramas like Lights and Shadows (2011) and Mouse (2021), he has appeared in variety shows, including Netflix’s Busted! (2017-2019). Ahn married actress Choi Hyun-joo in 2015, and the couple has two children.
