Aksak Maboul is a Belgian band founded in 1977 by Marc Hollander and Vincent Kenis, exploring multiple musical genres and innovations. Their debut album"Onze danses pour combattre la migraine" (1977) blends jazz, electronica and global influences, establishing their unique style. In 1979, the band recorded"Un peu de l'âme des bandits" with Fred Frith and Chris Cutler, reinforcing their affiliation with the Rock in Opposition movement. In 1980, Hollander and Kenis merged with Les Tueurs de la lune de miel, including Véronique Vincent. Together, they experimented with a series of electronic tracks, finally released in 2014 under the title"Ex-Futur Album". This return marks a new stage phase for the band from 2015, followed by reinterpretations in 2016. In 2020, Aksak Maboul release"Figures", a double album with 22 collaborative tracks. In 2023, they continue with"Une aventure de VV (songspiel)", a bold theatrical work, confirming their creative heritage and innovative spirit.
