Alex Sensation, born in Bogotá, Colombia, is a globally popular DJ and artist. He moved to America as a child and began collecting records, inspired by his elder brother, who is also a DJ. He began working at various clubs aged 17, although he told employers he was 19 in order to get work. He started working as a DJ at the world-renowned Copacabana Club in New York, and it was there that he was approached to become a DJ on the radio station Caliente 105.9FM in 1996. He remained there for a year and a half, then moved to present the radio show 'La Mega Mezcla del Mediodía' on the popular Latin station La Mega 97.9FM. He remains one of the stations most popular DJs and has played to sell-out crowds in many locations including Madison Square Garden, Izod Center, Nokia Theater and United Place. He has also toured internationally to many countries including Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Canada, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay and Aruba. Sensation released his debut mix album 'Alex Sensation and Friends: La Mega Mezcla' in 2009. In 2015, he released the single 'Bailame', featuring Yandel and Shaggy. Also in this year, he signed for Universal Records and released a second single 'La Mala Y La Buena' in collaboration with Gente de Zona. This reached number 17 in the Hot Latin Singles Chart in 2015. In 2016, Sensation released the single 'Que Va' featuring Ozuna. The song was popular immediately and has been streamed over 280 million times online. Further collaborations followed in 2018 with 'Fantasia', featuring trap star Bad Bunny, which reached number 34 on the Hot Latin Singles Chart, and in the same year, 'La Diabla' featuring Nicky Jam, which reached number 36. Sensation has a massive online presence with many thousands of followers on his various social media accounts. He enjoys spending time with his family and is a supporter of a range of charities.
