Alexandre Carlo, born on March 30, 1974, in Brasília, is a Brazilian reggae artist, known for being the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the band Natiruts. He began his musical career with Natiruts in 1994, and their debut album Nativus (1997) became an instant success, establishing them as one of the most influential reggae bands in Brazil. Alexandre Carlo's distinctive fusion of reggae with Brazilian rhythms has resonated widely, producing hits like "Natiruts Reggae Power" and "Presente de um Beija-Flor." In addition to his work with Natiruts, Alexandre Carlo explored solo ventures, releasing Quartz in 2013, a pop-infused album featuring collaborations with Brazilian artists like Projota and Ellen Oléria. Over the years, he has collaborated with legends such as Gilberto Gil, Tiê, and international artists like The Wailers and Ziggy Marley. Natiruts' live albums, such as Natiruts Reggae Power Ao Vivo (2006) and Natiruts Acústico no Rio de Janeiro (2012), have cemented their global reputation. After releasing the albums Índigo Cristal (2017) and Good Vibration Vol. 1 (2021) with the band, Alexandre Carlo announced the group's dissolution and a farewell national tour in 2024. That year, he also released a three-track EP titled Carlo 50.
