Formed in 2009, Aline was originally known as Young Michelin. Two years later, the band comprising Romain Guerret (vocals, guitar), Romain Leiris (bass), Arnaud Pilard (guitar) and Vincent Pedretti (drums) was summoned by lawyers from the famous tire manufacturer to change its name. Influenced by the indie pop of the 1980s and 1990s (with The Pastels and especially The Wake at the forefront), as well as French rock bands, Aline made their mark on a homonymous debut EP released in 2012. The quartet, who have a strong presence on French stages, hone their electro-tinged new wave rock in the studio. Their debut album Regarde le Ciel, released at the beginning of 2013, met with critical acclaim. Two years later, La Vie Électrique, produced by Stephen Street, demonstrates the ambitions of the Marseille-based outfit.
