Alexandra Margo Sholler (born September 27, 1986 in Sydney, Australia), known as Alison Wonderland, is an Australian dance music producer, DJ and singer. Training as a classical cellist and performing with the Sydney Youth Orchestra, she later took up bass guitar, playing with local indie bands, before becoming interested in electronic dance music, producing mixes for Sam Sparro and Ladyhawke, to critical acclaim. Her debut single “Get Ready” (feat. Fishing) was released in July followed by her five-track EP Calm Down, with single “I Want U” peaking at number 38 on the ARIA Singles Chart and certified gold. In March 2015, Wonderland released her debut studio album Run, peaking at number 6 and 12 on Australian and New Zealand charts, respectively and nominated in two categories at the 2015 ARIA awards: Best Dance Release, for single “Run” (2015) and Best Video for “U Don’t Know” (2015). In 2017, Wonderland released “Happy Place” attracting international attention by raising awareness of mental illness and depression, releasing her second album, Awake on April 6, 2018, which debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic charts in the United States. Awarded Best Breakout Artist at the 2018 Billboard Dance Awards, Wonderland embarking on extensive international tour, returning in September 2020 with “Bad Things”, the first single from her 2022 album Loner, peaking at number 9 in Australia and number 3 on the US Dance charts.
