Allen Su is a Chinese singer-songwriter and actor who rose to fame in 2007 as the runner-up in Hunan Satellite Television's Super Boy singing contest. Born Su Xing on March 5, 1984, in Xi'an, Shaanxi, he began taking piano lessons at a very young age and later relocated to Australia, where he first attended business school before switching to a career in digital media. During his seven-year stint in Australia, he played in a band with a couple of friends and won first place in the New Talent Singing Awards in Sydney, making his return to China in 2007 to participate in the Super Boy contest. Even though he originally signed up just to do networking, Allen Su ended up in second place in the competition and managed to land a deal with Sony Music, which released his debut EP Autumn later that year. In 2008, he went back to Sydney to finish his studies and resumed his musical endeavors in 2010 with the release of his first full-length LONG.ING. Over the next few years, Allen Su continued to dazzle audiences with his suave blend of C-pop, hip-hop, and R&B on releases such as Present Tense (2011), New Way of Style (2012), Let the World Listen (2014), Over 30 (2014), and Someone (2015). Stand Up Again, his first album for the Xinglun Media Beijing label, was released in 2017. In 2023, his single "不要劝我放下" peaked at Number 55 on the Top 200 of China's Tencent Music charts.
