ALTIMA is a Japanese electronic music unit formed in 2011, composed of rapper MOTSU (ex-m.o.v.e), synthesizer programmer SAT (from fripSide), and vocalist MAON (Maon Kurosaki). The project was born after MOTSU discovered SAT through YouTube and resonated with his vision of continuing the legacy of digital J-pop pioneered by legends like Tetsuya Komuro and Daisuke Asakura. MOTSU approached SAT after Animelo Summer Live 2010, and SAT invited Maon Kurosaki to join the lineup, completing the trio. ALTIMA debuted on stage as a surprise guest at Animelo Summer Live 2011 -rainbow- and officially released their first single "I’ll believe" on December 7, 2011 under Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Known for their playful yet polished style, the group combines electronic pop with high-energy rap and vocals, aiming to entertain through both sound and visuals. Their best-known track, "Burst The Gravity"(2012), served as the second opening theme for the anime Accel World, solidifying their reputation in the anisong scene. The group went on hiatus following their performance at Animelo Summer Live 2016 -TOKI-. They briefly reunited in 2018 for special appearances at NBCUniversal anime music events but have not resumed regular activity since.
