Following the release of her first single "Paper Paper" in 2017, Amanda Delara (born on June 14, 1997) has been winning over fans in her hometown of Norway and beyond with her thought-provoking brand of R&B-infused pop. Born in Sweden to Iranian parents and raised in the small Norwegian town of Nes, the singer, songwriter and producer now known simply as Delara, taught herself to play the piano and violin and began writing music as a youth. 2017 saw the release of her breakout EP, Rebel, and that same year she received a nomination for Newcomer of the Year at Norway’s annual music awards, P3 Gull. Delara’s music often explores socially conscious themes, with the electronic beats of Rebel EP track "New Generation" processing her mother’s experience of war in Iran. The Running Deep EP followed in 2018, earning Delara a pop artist nomination that year for tracks “Soldiers” and “Running Deep” at the Spelleman Awards, also known as the Norwegian Grammys. The release of Delara’s third EP Et Lite Stykke Norge in January 2020 marked a shift from English to Norwegian. The EP’s first track “Nå Er Det Oss” received a nomination for Song of the Year at the 2020 P3 Gull awards. “Checka”, the collaborative 2020 single with German-speaking rapper Loredana, was self-produced by Delara alongside Sondre Haftorsen.
