Amaranthe

Amaranthe is a Swedish metal rock band with pop influences and international success. The group was formed in Gothenburg in 2008. Guitarist/keyboardist Olof Mörck, vocalist/bassist Joacim (Jake E) Lundberg, singer Elize Ryd, and drummer Morten Løwe Sørenson comprised the original lineup, which would undergo multiple changes over the next decade. Even so, the band found a global audience with a mix of melody, metal, harsh vocals, and clean vocals. Known originally as Avalanche, they changed to Aramanthe for the release of their self-titled debut album in 2011, followed with The Nexus in 2013. The Nexus reached number 6 on the Swedish charts, as well as number 4 in Finland and number 31 in Japan. Massive Addictive (2014), Maximalism (2016) and Helix (2018) all reached the Top 20 in Sweden, while the 2014 single "Drop Dead Cynical" became a Top 40 hit on the Mainstream Rock chart in America. 2020's Manifest produced a Top 40 hit on the Finnish charts with "Strong," and the group returned in 2024 with another studio album, The Catalyst.
