Amduscia

Amduscia is a Mexican aggrotech band from Mexico City, founded in 1999 by Polo Acevedo, Edgar Acevedo, and Raul Montelongo. Named after a demon from medieval demonology, the group channeled the chaos of their environment into a caustic blend of industrial beats and sinister melodies, drawing on influences from dark wave and old-school EBM to synthpop and trance. A 2003 demo earned them a deal with Germany’s Out of Line label and spawned the debut album Melodies for the Devil (2003). They quickly gained an international following with club hits like “Dead or Alive” and the ferocious follow-up album From Abuse to Apostasy (2006). Amduscia’s harsh electronic anthems and melodic undercurrents fostered a devoted fanbase and drew early comparisons to compatriot industrial pioneers Hocico. They’ve delivered intense live shows at major goth-industrial festivals such as Wave-Gotik-Treffen and M’era Luna, even touring Europe alongside Combichrist. After Montelongo’s departure in 2009 and the tragic death of co-founder Edgar Acevedo in 2010, frontman Polo Acevedo carried on the band’s legacy, completing the defiant album Death, Thou Shalt Die (2011) in his brother’s memory and later unleashing Filofobia (2013). Existe, Amduscia's sixth studio full-length, arrived in 2020.
