Amir

Laurent Amir Haddad, born in Paris on June 20, 1984, grew up in Israel from the age of eight until his military service. Nicknamed Amir since childhood, he was discovered on the TV show The Voice, la plus belle voix, and reached the final with his cover of Elton John's "Candle in the Wind". He is also the author of Vayehi, a debut album released in 2011 following his participation in the Israeli version of the TV show Nouvelle star. In 2014, the singer took part in the second volume of the Forever Gentlemen supergroup. Following in the footsteps of his fellow contestants Kendji Girac, Fréro Delavega and Maximilien, in 2015 he co-wrote the lyrics of a new single, a song entitled "Oasis", before the release the following year of the album Au Coeur de Moi, just before his participation in the Eurovision Song Contest where, on May 14, 2016, he finished in sixth place with the track "J'ai cherché", while the album was certified triple platinum. Crowned at the MTV Europe Music Awards and NRJ Music Awards the same year, he joined the Les Enfoirés troupe and sang on OneRepublic's "No Vacancy". The following album Addictions (ranked #3, 2017), with the single "États d'amour", was also certified triple platinum. After becoming a commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest and then a member of the pre-selection jury, he took part in the charity song "De l'amour" for the Urgence Homophobie association, as well as in the TF1 TV show Good Singers, before the release of the album R3ssources (2020), supported by the song "La Fête". After his theatrical debut in a one-man show, Amir unveils the song "Sommet", chosen as France Télévisions' anthem for the Paris Summer Olympics and the first single from the album C Amir (2024), which reaches No. 5 in the SNEP Albums chart in France.
