Anakronic

Since 2007, Anakronic Electro Orkestra from Toulouse have been modernizing klezmer music, bathing it in a whirlwind of electro, dub, drum & bass and hip-hop. Featured on the Jumu Presents Nu Juwish Music, Vol. 1 compilation released in 2007, the band finds itself up against the tenors of the klezmer music revival. 2010 sees the release of their first album, Speak With Ghosts, featuring American clarinettist David Krakauer, and the collective's international renown. This quest for modernity steeped in tradition continues on Noise in Sepher (2013) and Spoken Machine (2015), which welcomes rapper Taron Benson. The latter, included in the collective that shortens its name to a simple Anakronic, shares the bill with accordionist Vincent Peirani on the joint album Anakronic / Krakauer (2016).
