The Colombian singer-songwriter Andrés Cepeda was born in Bogotá in 1973 where he began studying piano from the age of five. Whilst still a student at one of Colombia's most prestigious and exclusive schools, the Colegio San Carlos, Cepeda formed the band Poligamia along with some school friends. The group enjoyed some limited commercial success in a recording career which spanned five years culminating with their 1998 farewell concert album 'Buenas Gracias Muchas Noches'. A year later Cepeda launched his solo career with the album 'Sé morir' followed up in 2001 by his critically acclaimed work 'El carpintero' which went on to become certified quadruple platinum in Colombia. Although Cepeda is still active within the Colombian music scene his most recent studio album was 'Mil Ciudades', released in 2015.
