Apl.de.ap, born Allan Pineda Lindo on November 28, 1974 in Angeles City, Philippines, is a leading Filipino-American rapper, singer and record producer. He is best known as a founding member of the iconic hip-hop group The Black Eyed Peas. Raised in the Philippines, Apl.de.ap moved to the U.S. with the support of the Pearl S. Buck Foundation. Buck Foundation, which aimed to provide better opportunities for children. In the U.S., he met will.i.am, with whom he would later form The Black Eyed Peas. The group enjoyed worldwide success with albums such as Elephunk (2003), Monkey Business (2005) and The E.N.D. (2009), producing hit singles such as "Where Is the Love?", "I Gotta Feeling" and "Boom Boom Pow". Apl.de.ap's unique style and cultural influence have been integral to the band's sound. As a solo artist, Apl.de.ap released singles such as "Going Out" (2013), "2 Proud" (2024) and "Ready" (2024), with Filipino band SB19, which became a viral hit in Southeast Asia.
