Arch Enemy

Since its formation in Halmstad in 1995, Swedish band Arch Enemy has been developing aggressive death metal with melodic tendencies, led by guitarist Michael Amott (ex-Carcass and Carnage). The band went through two periods, with singer Johan Liiva until Burning Bridges (1999), then with singer Angela Gossow from 2001 and the album Wages of Sin. 2009 sees the release of their eighth opus, The Root of All Evil. In 2011, Khaos Legions marks the return of producer Rickard Bengtsson. After major personnel changes, Arch Enemy returns in 2014 with War Eternal . Following the recording, guitarist Jeff Loomis, from progressive metal band Nevermore, is integrated into Arch Enemy. While the founding members formed the parallel project Black Earth, Loomis demonstrated the extent of his talent on the long joint tour that followed, encapsulated in the album and DVD As the Stages Burn! (2017), and on the subsequent studio album Will to Power (2017). The same quintet then compiles its covers on Covered in Blood (2019), before beginning recording its eleventh album Deceivers (2022), from which five singles are taken. The departure of Loomis in 2023 was followed by the arrival of Joey Concepcion, who was present on the Asian tour of 2024. Arch Enemy then set to work on the Blood Dynasty album, released in 2025.
