This strange character, a mix of oriental diva and underground femme fatale, launched her singing career in 1978 with a half-rock, half-lyric show, Chants Barbares. She made a remarkable appearance alongside Jacques Higelin at the Cirque d'hiver in 1982. Despite several original albums(Atavisme, 1979; Informulé, 1981; Nocturne flamboyant, 1983), on which the four octaves of her voice enabled her to soar above daring new wave, she was only a minor success. From 1986 onwards, she became singing teacher to Étienne Daho and the new generation of French singers... which led Armande Altaï to the position of teacher and then director of Star Academy.
