Árný Margrét Sævarsdóttir, better known by her stage name Árný Margrét is an Icelandic musician born on May 7, 2001, in a small town called Ísafjörður. She began taking piano lessons at the age of 6 and later picked up guitar during her adolescence. After completing high school in 2020, Árný Margrét ventured to Denmark to attend a folk school, further honing her musical skills. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced her to return to Iceland. Árný Margrét's official entry into the music world was marked by her first performance in 2018. Her talent soon caught the attention of One Little Independent Records, leading to a signing in 2021. That year, she released her first single, "Intertwined." This was quickly followed by her second single, "Akureyri," in January 2022. Her debut EP, intertwined, came out a month later. This achievement paved the way for her first full-length album, they only talk about the weather, which was released in October 2022. Greatly inspired by the isolated Icelandic landscapes where she grew up, the album featured introspective indie folk stylings and lyrics inspired by her personal experiences. In 2023, she joined forces with musician Júníus Meyvant on the single "Spring" and issued the EP dinner alone. "Part of Me," a collaborative effort with Ásgeir, arrived in December of that year.
