Toulousan singer Art Mengo survived the success of the 1980s ("Les parfums de la vie (Je l'ai tant aimée)") and 1990s ("La mer n'existe pas") by putting his songwriting talents to work for stars (Johnny Hallyday, Florent Pagny, Juliette Gréco, Jane Birkin) and pursuing a more discreet solo career, punctuated by personal works such as La Vie de Château (2003) and Entre Mes Guillemets (2006). In 2009, he produced a lovely Sujet Libre.
