AUR

Childhood friends Ahad Khan and Usama Ali from Karachi bonded over poetry and began writing songs together as teenagers. Their musical journey took shape when they met producer Raffey Anwar, leading to the formation of Uraan and the release of their debut single "Rastay" in November 2021. Their lyrically rich blend of R&B and rap gained traction with songs released in 2023 like "Dooriyan", "Chehre" (featuring Taimour Baig), and "Sometimes", but it was the ballad "Tu hai kahan" released in 2024 that catapulted them to fame, spreading rapidly on short-form video platforms. However, a naming dispute with another band forced them to rebrand as AUR, using the initials of their first names. This change coincided with their signing to Sony Music, boosting "Tu hai kahan" back to the top of the charts in Pakistan, India, and beyond. A remix featuring British-Pakistani star Zayn Malik singing in Urdu further amplified its reach. Since then, singles like "Shikayat" have cemented AUR’s place at the forefront of Pakistani heartbreak pop, resonating deeply with Gen-Z South Asians worldwide.
