At the beginning of 2018, British-Cypriot B Young was a singer, songwriter and rapper recording songs in his own bedroom, but by the end of that year, he was one of the UKs biggest breakthrough acts. Young worked in London as a sound engineer for several years, releasing his first single 'Spend It' in 2013, before taking the next few years to perfect his craft and blend his eclectic mix of dancehall, Afrobeat and hip-hop which comes from his broad range of musical interests and joins to make his individual smooth sound. In 2017 he released the single 'Been Wavey', but it was not until 2018 when he signed for Columbia Records that he had his real breakthrough with the single 'Jumanji', which reached number 13 in the UK Singles Chart. Young released his next single '079Me' in 2018 and then a collaborative record with ADP and Kranium entitled 'Movie'. His next single 'Juice' was also released in 2018, followed by 'Gucci Demon' in 2019. He also featured on the 2019 track 'Bank' by Collie Buddz, along with fellow rapper Russ.
