Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio on March 10, 1994, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has become a global icon in Latin music, known for blending pop hooks, reggaeton, and Latin trap beats. Starting in his local church choir and inspired by artists like Daddy Yankee and Vico C, Bad Bunny adopted his stage name as a teenager and began releasing songs independently while studying communications at the University of Puerto Rico. His breakout track, "Diles," gained traction on social media and led to a deal with DJ Luian and Mambo Kingz's Hear This Music label in 2016. With hits like "Tu No Vive Así," "Soy Peor," and the Latin Grammy-nominated "Si Tu Novio Te Deja Sola," Bad Bunny quickly established himself as a leader in the Latin trap movement. Collaborations with major artists such as Becky G ("Mayores"), Nicki Minaj ("Krippy Kush"), and J Balvin ("Sensualidad") further cemented his star status. In 2018, his crossover appeal exploded with "I Like It," a chart-topping collaboration with Cardi B and J Balvin, followed by "Mia" with Drake and his debut album, X 100pre. His 2019 collaborative album with J Balvin, Oasis, brought even more acclaim, and his electrifying performance at the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show highlighted his cultural influence. That same year, Bad Bunny released YHLQMDLG, which peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200, and the chart-topping El Último Tour del Mundo, featuring hits like "La Noche de Anoche" with Rosalía. In 2022, Un Verano Sin Ti dominated the charts, earning him his fourth consecutive number 1 on the US Top Latin Albums chart and collaborations with artists like Chencho Corleone and Bomba Estéreo. The album's success reinforced his global influence, leading to headlining Coachella in 2023 and the hit single "Un x100to" with Grupo Frontera. Bad Bunny's 2023 album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, marked a return to his Latin trap roots while exploring Jersey club and drill influences. The project debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and topped charts in France, Spain, and Switzerland, further solidifying his status as one of the most innovative artists of his generation. His sixth full-length, 2025's Debí Tirar Más Fotos (stylized as DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS) found him embracing the sounds of his native Puerto Rico, incorporating genres like salsa, jíbaro, and plena on tracks like "Nuevayol," "Voy a Llevarte Pa' PR," and "Pitorro de Coco."
