Where Gogol Bordello injects punk rock into Eastern European musical roots, Balkan Beat Box takes the klezmer style and gives it a healthy dose of electro. Ori Kaplan (saxophone) formed the group in 2004 in New York, and Balkan Beat Box was noticed as soon as it was released in 2005. Balkan Beat Box's fusion of multiple elements makes for danceable, joyful and original music. Nu Med in 2007 and the Nu Made remixes in 2008 did nothing to dent Balkan Beat Box's reputation. Blue Eyed Back Boy is released in March 2010, to keep the adventure going and the fusion going strong.
