Bambie Thug

The genre-defying Irish singer-songwriter known as Bambie Thug (born Bambie Ray Robinson on 6 March 1993 in Macroom, Cork) channels their interest in witchcraft and other dark subjects into their self-proclaimed "ouija -pop" brew. Shot through with a hint of Peaches, an air of hyperpop, and a boatload of personality, their debut 2021 single "Birthday" took a raw close-up of their struggles with addiction and set the stage for their unique, uncompromising sound. Two EPs followed that same year: "Psilocyber," headed up by a song about a "psychedelic" computer virus, and High Romancy, which contained the sex-positive anthem "P.M.P." The Cathexis EP arrived in 2023 and the following year Bambie Thug was chosen to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 after winning the Irish national final Eurosong 2024 with "Doomsday Blue." Self-described as an "electro-metal breakdown," the single was written by Bambie Ray Robinson alongside Olivia Cassy Brooking, Sam Matlock, and Tyler Ryder and reached number 37 on the Irish chart in early 2024.
