Bastarz, often stylized in all caps, is a K-pop and hip-hop group hailing from Seoul, South Korea. They are the first official sub-unit (or offshoot) of the South Korean boy band Block B. The lineup is made up of Block B's main dancers, B-Bomb and U-Kwon, along with rapper P.O. The group announced its formation through teaser photos in 2015, with Zico of Block B producing some of their work. The group made their debut with their mini-album Conduct Zero in 2015. It included popular tracks such as "Conduct Zero," "Charlie Chaplin," and "Sue Me." It was a huge success, charting at number 3 in South Korea. The same year, Bastarz was nominated for several awards, including two MAMAs, two Seoul Music Awards, and a Melon Music Award for best dance performance. The group entered the Japanese music scene in October 2015 with the CD single "Hinko Zero," reaching number 20 on the Oricon chart. Their second Korean release, Welcome 2 Bastarz, was released in 2016, featuring the lead single "Selfish & Beautiful Girl." This EP debuted at number 6 on the Circle Albums Chart. Their third mini-album, I'm a Mess, came out in 2019 and found the band members more actively involved in its production.
