When British pop singer Becky Hill - born February 14, 1994, in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England - scored a Number 1 record in 2014 with the song "Gecko (Overdrive)," she became the first contestant from the TV reality talent show The Voice to have a chart-topping record. The track was a joint effort with the Dutch DJ Oliver Heldens and became an international hit launching both performers' careers. Prior to releasing "Gecko (Overdrive)," Becky Hill had already had a taste of chart success when she was featured on the platinum-selling "Afterglow" released in 2013 by the English producer and remixer Mark Wilkinson. However, “Gecko (Overdrive)” was her first solo release and was followed later in 2014 by “Caution to the Wind” and “Losing,” and “All My Love” (with Watermät and TAI) in 2015. After nearly two years, she returned in 2017 with the Eko EP before dropping the single "Back & Forth" in 2018, a collaboration with American producer Marc Kinchen and English songwriter Guy Robin. “Back & Forth” was a chart success and reached number 12 on the UK charts. In 2019, she released the singles "I Could Get Used to This" (with Weiss) and "Wish You Well" (with Sigala) and performed at Pride in London in July that year. She also released the compilation album Get to Know in September 2019. This release gathered nine of her singles plus four more tracks. Get to Know climbed into the Top 20 in the UK, Ireland, and on the US Dance Albums chart. In April 2021, she came out as queer via social media and unleashed her debut album, Only Honest on the Weekend, later that year. The album was powered by dancefloor-ready bangers and softer ballads and included collaborations with Shift K3Y, David Guetta, Topic, S1mba, Ella Eyre, Banx & Ranx, Sigala, and 220 Kid. Only Honest on the Weekend went on to reach the Top 10 in the UK, Ireland, and Scotland. In 2022, Becky Hill released a deluxe version of the album, which included the hit singles “Run” (with Galantis), “Crazy What Love Can Do” (with David Guetta and Ella Henderson), and “History” (with Joel Corry). She announced the release of her sophomore album, 2024’s Believe Me Now?, which included the previously released hit singles “Side Effects” (featuring Lewis Thompson), “Disconnect” (featuring Chase & Status), “Never Be Alone” (featuring Sonny Fodera), and “Outside of Love.”
