Born in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on May 13, 1984, Benny Dayal is a prolific playback singer. He has recorded more than 2000 songs in 16 different languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Telugu. Bengalie, Kannada, Malayalam and many others. Raised in Abu Dhabi, he attended Abu Dhabi Indian School before earning his masters degree in journalism at Madras Christian College. He participated in a talent competition and won a place in pop group S5, but was ultimately discouraged by a lack of success and briefly left the music industry. Three days after he started working for a BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) company, he received a call from famous producer/writer A.R. Rahman’s office to provide chorus vocals for a recording. Benny Dayal’s vocal performance impressed Rahman and he was chosen to perform on more playback recordings as a soloist. He made his debut on the song “Balleilakka” from the 2007 film Sivaji. Since then, Benny Dayal has become and in-demand playback vocalist, recording songs by popular Bollywood composers such as A.R. Rhaman, Pritam, Salim-Sulaiman, and many others. He has released several albums under his own name including Yathumaagi (2012), Rangbazz (2013), and The Best of Benny Dayal (2013), His most popular songs include “Always Kabhi Kabhi” (2011), “Tamil Fever” (2014), “Enna Vazhka Da” with Vrusha Balu (2021), and “Royal Loyal” (2021).
