Benoît Dorémus has no desire to find links between artists, but he sees himself as a legitimate heir to Renaud. The first album by the author, composer and performer born in Besançon in 1980. Pas en Parler, was self-produced in 2005. Noticed by Renaud himself, Benoît Dorémus signed with EMI and recorded Jeunesse Se Passe, released in 2007. This second album is followed by a major tour. May 10, 2010 saw the release of 2020, preceded by the ecologically committed single "Bilan carbone". Following the release of another track, "T'as la loose!" and the award of the SACEM Grand Prix, the singer took part in the tribute album by various artists on La Bande à Renaud (2014) and recorded his fourth album En Tachycardie (2016) with Francis Cabrel.
