Born in Dallas on BigXthaPlug is a Dallas-based rapper, known for his unique raspy voice and distinctive lyrical flow. Born on May 12, 1998, he initially aimed to become a professional football player, not a musician. However, a tumultuous period of his life, during which he faced charges of aggravated robbery and spent time in and out of jail, prompted his interest in rap music. He began crafting lyrics during solitary confinement, a process that shaped his artistic output. After his release in 2020, BigXthaPlug committed fully to music, pivoting from his dreams of a football career. He marked this change with the release of his debut EP, Bacc from the Dead. Over the following two years, his career took off. He released songs such as "Safehouse," "Big Stepper," and "Mr. Trouble" in 2021 and 2022, each of which gained popularity not only within the Texas music scene but also in other markets. His music, distinguished by a unique bounce reflective of Texas' musical heritage, amassed millions of plays on different streaming platforms. In 2022, BigXthaPlug released the Big Stepper EP, followed by the successful single "Texas" later that year. In 2023, he debuted his full-length album Amar, named after his son. The album reached Number 4 on Billboard's Heatseekers album chart. The following year, his hit "Mmhmm" reached No. 65 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the EP The Biggest was released, featuring collaborations with Offset and Finesse2tymes. Following the 2023 Don't Mess with Texas Tour, the rapper returned to the studio for the mixtape Meet the 6ixers and the album Take Care, which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and No. 3 on the R&B/hip-hop charts.
