Japanese girl band Billie Idle emerged from the ashes of BiS (also known as Brand New Idol Society) who rose to prominence by claiming they were making a stance against the 'Japanese Idol' music culture which had grown out of the reality TV series. The two founders of Billie Idle were ex BiS members First Summer Uika and Hirano Nozomi and more recently the band were joined by Pour Lui, another ex-BiS member who replaced Yasui Yuuhi. The band released five albums with the most recent being their 2018 release 'NOT IDOL'. Their anti-Idol positioning has struck a chord amongst Japanese teenage music buyers and in Japan Billie Idle are one of the best known groups who operate outside the corporate mechanisms of the Japanese reality TV show industry.
