A big hit in 1974, "El Bimbo!" was played in discotheques all over the world, and contributed to the emergence in Europe of a trend from across the Atlantic: disco. The semi-instrumental, Latin-sounding hit was the brainchild of Bimbo Jet, more a project than a real band, created by Tino Rossi's son Laurent Rossi and producer Claude Morgan. Building on this success, Bimbo Jet tried to repeat this fortune in the following years with the instrumental "La Balanga", followed by "Love Is What We Need" and "Love to Love".
