The Canadian alt-rock band Bleeker formed in 2003, when the group's two youngest members were just 12 years old. Featuring two sets of brothers — Taylor and Cole Perkins, as well as Dan and Dustin Steinke — the band initially called itself "Bleeker Ridge," a name that referred to the two streets in Orillia, Ontario, where the Perkins and Steinke siblings grew up. The young musicians began playing cover songs by rock & roll icons like Jimi Hendrix before moving on to original material, which they showcased on the independently-released albums Undertow (2004) and The Rain (2007). Bleeker Ridge eventually signed with Roadrunner Records and released Small Town Dead in 2010, earning a Top 10 hit on the Canadian Active Rock Charts with the albums title track. Four followed in 2013. Dustin Steinke left the band in 2016 in order to join Sixx:A.M., a hard rock supergroup featuring Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx and Bleeker Ridge's own producer, James Michael. Dustin's brother, Dan Steinke, exited Bleeker Ridge's lineup that same year, and the band changed its name to "Bleeker" before releasing a new album, Erase You, in late 2016. "Highway" became a modern rock hit in Canada (where it reached number 4 on the Canada Rock chart) and America (where it climbed to number 11 on Mainstream Rock), and Bleeker received a nomination for "Breakthrough Group of the Year" at the Juno Awards in 2017. In 2020, the band earned another hit in America with "Give a Little Bit More (Disaster)," which climbed to number 34 on the Alternative Songs chart. After a brief pause, Bleeker returned in 2024 with Messed Up, earning a pair of Top 40 hits on Canada's Top 100 Rock Songs chart with "Let's Go" and "Make It Better."
