American rapper Anthony Simon, aka Blockhead, began producing for Aesop Rock and Mike Ladd before embarking on a career under his own name. The Blockhead mixtape Broken Beats (2001) and the albums Downtown Science (2005) and The Music Scene (2010) are the best examples.
