Originally a duo formed in 2008 by Canadian DJs Anastacia D'Elene Corniere and Vivie-Ann Bakos, Blond:ish became the latter's project in 2019. Meeting at the Winter Music Conference in Miami Beach in 2007, Corniere and Bakos began performing together the following year during a club residency in Montreal, before moving to London to focus on production. After releasing their first EP, Lonely Days, in 2012, the duo signed with German label Kompakt, for whom they produced the Lovers in Limbo EP, and then with Get Physical, under which they released the following EP Strange Attractions. Alongside their work as remixers for Depeche Mode, Pete Tong, WhoMadeWho and Maya Jane Coles, the duo set about recording their debut album Welcome to the Present, released in 2015 on the Kompakt label. The following year, they produced a mix for BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix. In 2017, Blond:ish launched his own Abracadabra label, open to other artists. In 2019, Corniere withdraws from the project, leaving Vivie-Ann Bakos alone at the helm of Blond:ish. Three years later, the singles "Waves " and "Aye Aye" are nominated for Juno Awards. After a collaboration with Diplo in 2019, Blond:ish welcomes Haitian DJ Francis Mercier and Malian duo Amadou & Mariam for the track "Sete" (2022), then Eran Hersh, Darmon and Madonna on "Sorry" (2023), which is the subject of several remixes. A new series of singles follows in 2024, including "Never Walk Alone" with the participation of Stevie Appleton, "Different Way" with Zeeba, "Can't Let You Go" and "Shout It Out" with Night Tales, then "Higher" with Black Circle. These tracks are included on the second album Never Walk Alone, released in early 2025.
