Bob Bissonnette

Born Roberto Bissonnette on April 27, 1981 in Caracas, Venezuela, and died on September 4, 2016 in Flatlands, Canada, Bob Bissonnette was a Quebec field hockey player and rock singer. He grew up in Sainte-Foy, Quebec, before moving to Hull, Quebec, as a junior field hockey player with the Hull Olympiques in 1998. He finished his field hockey career with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in New Brunswick in 2002. He began his musical career by making a name for himself on the Internet and social networks with his songwriting, rock and sports humor. In 2010, he released his first album, Recrue de l'Année , with the songs " Chris Chelios " and " Mettre du tape su' ma palette ", which propelled him onto Quebec radio waves. He followed this up with his second opus in 2012, Les Barbes des Séries , where a number of songs once again topped the charts, including " Chantal Machabée ", " J'te trouve écoeurante ", " La Machine à scorer " and " Toune de bière ". Bob Bissonnette tours Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. In 2014, he released his third album, Rockstar . In June 2016, he became a minority shareholder in the Capitales de Québec baseball club. He died in a helicopter accident on September 4, 2016 in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. Three years later, Bruno Lachance directed a documentary on his life entitled Bob Bissonnette: Rockstar. Pis Pas À Peu Près , which premiered to an audience of over 8,000 on September 13, 2019. In 2021, his first two albums go gold. The opus Temple de la Renommée, an album of violin covers of his songs, was released the same year. It was recorded in February and March 2016, just before his death.
