Boubarcar Traoré is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Mali in Africa who became famous in his homeland performing a blend of traditional West African music and American blues with Arabian influences. He suffered during political upheaval in Mali and re-emerged in France when a radio performance led to a recording contract. His debut album 'Mariama' came out in 1990 and he went on to international acclaim and performed across Africa, Europe and North America. Other releases include 'Kar Kar' (1992), 'Sa Golo' (1996), 'Maciré' (2000), 'Je chanterai pour toi' (2003), 'Kongo Magni' (2005), 'Mali Denhou' (2011), 'Mblahimaou' (2014) and 'Dounia Tabalo' (2017).
