Brandi Marie Carlile was born on June 1, 1981 in Ravensdale, not far from Seattle, Washington (USA). After a near-death experience with meningitis at the age of five, she took an interest in singing and found herself on stage performing country songs at just 8 years of age. After signing with the Columbia label, the singer inaugurated her discography in 2005 with a debut album soberly entitled Brandi Carlile (No. 80). She continued her progress two years later with The Story (No. 41 in 2007), followed by Give Up the Ghost (No. 26 in 2009). A new milestone was reached in 2012 with the album Bear Creek, which was the first to break into the Top 10 (No. 10), paving the way for its two successors, The Firewatcher's Daughter (No. 9 in 2015) and, above all, By the Way, I Forgive You, which gave her her best ranking in the US charts in 2018 at No. 5. Her seventh opus, In These Silent Days, was released in 2021 and reached No. 11.
