Bridget Hayden

Bridget Hayden is an English folk musician and singer-songwriter, known for her distinctive blend of ethereal, experimental sounds and traditional folk influences. Based in West Yorkshire, she first garnered attention as a member of the avant-garde folk band The Icarus Line before launching her solo career, which is marked by hauntingly beautiful melodies and a deep, atmospheric quality. Her music blends elements of folk, drone, and experimental soundscapes, often creating an immersive, otherworldly listening experience. In 2011, she released An Indifferent Ocean, an experimental rock album that earned critical acclaim, and she went on to put out releases at various intervals over the years, including the dark ambient tape Incantations From Yin Valley in 2018, the Soil and Song album in 2019, and a 2025 offering of traditional folk ballads, made with the Apparitions, called Cold Blows the Rain.
