A child actress who starred in the Disney Channel shows Wizards of Waverly Place and Good Luck Charlie, Bridgit Mendler struck out as a wholesome pop starlet with a stack of summery, singalong anthems. Born in Washington D.C., Mendler first showed off her musical talent in television movie Lemonade Mouth (2011), where she sang lead tracks Somebody, Determine and Turn Up The Music on the soundtrack album which went on to reach Number 4 in the US charts. Signed to Hollywood Records, she recorded promotional singles for a number of different Disney shows before shooting to Number 7 in the UK with her debut solo single Ready Or Not. Citing Bob Dylan, Lily Allen, B.B. King and No Doubt as her musical heroes, Mendler co-wrote every song on album Hello My Name Is... (2013), and its sassy, upbeat dance-pop drew comparisons with Demi Lovota, Kelly Clarkson and Hilary Duff.
